Why Pendergrast Farm is Different

man and woman looking at plans inside a home being built

Imagine waking up each morning to the sound of birdsong, the filtered sunlight dancing through your bedroom window as it rises above the trees. You sip your coffee on a screened porch that opens fully to the outdoors, where you can hear the bees at work in the nearby garden, see your neighbors walking along the wooded trails, and catch a whiff of herbs growing just beyond your back door. This isn’t a vacation retreat—it’s home. And it starts with a blank page and a wish list.

At Pendergrast Farm, we believe that your home should be as unique and intentional as the life you want to live. That’s why our custom homebuilding process begins not with blueprints, but with dreams.

Your Vision, Our Expertise

When you choose to build at Pendergrast, you’re not just selecting a lot—you’re joining a one-of-a-kind conservation community built around a shared respect for the land, a love for good food, and a belief that neighbors should feel like family. From the start, you’ll work closely with our trusted build team: Dennis McConnell, who’s been building beautiful, quality homes in Atlanta for more than four decades, and Todd Thompson, our hands-on Construction Supervisor.

In your first meeting, you’ll sit down with Dennis and Todd and share your vision—your “dream list.” Maybe it’s a light-filled kitchen with windows overlooking the farm. Maybe it’s a spa-like bathroom retreat. Maybe it’s a studio where you can paint, or a tucked-away library with a woodland view. You’ll walk the lot, consider the light, the views, the structure. Then Dennis will work with his architect to bring your ideas to life, carefully shaping the plan to match your goals and the contours of the land.

Once the layout is just right, it’s time for the fun part—designing your finishes and selections. You’ll meet with our interior designer, Tamara, to choose everything from cabinetry and lighting to tile and flooring. This is your chance to bring personality and beauty into every square foot, making the home truly your own.

Designed for Health, Comfort, and Sustainability

While every home at Pendergrast Farm is distinct, each one shares a common commitment: to healthier living, lower energy use, and a meaningful connection to the land.

We build to EarthCraft standards, which means your home is energy-efficient, durable, and thoughtfully constructed from the ground up. Our homes are tightly sealed with spray foam insulation in the roof and all walls, which not only keeps conditioned air inside, but also buffers you from outdoor pollutants, dust, and allergens. Our fresh air systems ensure a constant stream of clean, filtered air throughout your home—so you can literally breathe easier.

Every home is solar-panel ready and wired for EV charging. You’ll enjoy high-efficiency HVAC systems, Energy Star-rated appliances, and sustainable materials chosen for both performance and aesthetics. The result? Most of our homes score a HERS rating of 50—meaning they’re about 50% more energy-efficient than a standard new home. That’s not just better for the planet—it’s better for your budget, too.

A Life More Connected

But the magic of Pendergrast Farm isn’t just in the homes—it’s in the lifestyle they support.

Here, we believe that connection matters. Connection to your neighbors. To the food you eat. To nature. To yourself.

Each home is nestled into the landscape with care, with views of either preserved woodlands or our one-acre organic farm and Community Green. All homes include outdoor living spaces—screened porches with disappearing glass walls, balconies, sun decks—so you can step into nature without ever leaving home.

Outside your door, 400 of the original 500 trees on the property still stand, shading a network of walking trails that wind through the woods and connect the neighborhood like secret paths in a storybook. Along the way, you’ll find blueberry bushes tucked into the landscape, natural play areas for children, and quiet corners perfect for a picnic or a moment of reflection.

You’ll also find shared spaces designed to bring people together: a saltwater lap pool for early morning swims, a community garden for those who want to grow their own vegetables and herbs, and a Maker’s Space for woodworking, ceramics, painting, or whatever creative spark you want to follow. Inside the Community House, there’s a kitchen and dining space for shared meals and wine tastings, plus rooms for yoga classes, book clubs, and even overnight guests.

At Pendergrast, front porches are more than architectural details—they’re invitations. Children run freely on the Common Green while parents chat over garden fences or share a glass of wine at golden hour. It’s a place where strangers become neighbors, and neighbors become lifelong friends.

Your Home, Your Story

Choosing to build your custom home at Pendergrast Farm is about more than real estate—it’s about building a life that feels intentional, fulfilling, and joyful.

You won’t just be designing a house—you’ll be designing a rhythm of living. One where you start your day with a walk in the woods, pick up fresh produce from the farm for dinner, and end the evening under the stars in your favorite chair. One where your kids learn the names of plants, your weekends feel like a retreat, and every square foot of your home reflects your values.

If that sounds like the life you’ve been dreaming of, we invite you to come walk the land, meet the team, and imagine what’s possible. Because at Pendergrast Farm, we’re not just building homes—we’re nurturing a way of life that’s grounded in beauty, sustainability, and belonging.
